Double Skeleton - No World

Double Skeleton is a grungey and sometimes shoegazey indie rock band from San Francisco, CA. Founding members Daniel Pierce and Vincent Flores met while both living on Florida's space coast in Brevard County in 2011. Finding they had a common interest in post-harcore and sludge bands of the 80's and early 90's like The Jesus Lizard and Melvins, their friendship quickly turned into discussions of starting a band. They moved to the Bay Area about a year later and started writing music and playing in various groups. A few projects later they formed Double Skeleton. In early 2015 they were joined by guitarist Joe Putnam and bass player Francis Ray and recorded a five song demo that was released the following spring. The demo and shows that followed earned the band comparisons to bands like "Dinosaur Jr. and the aggression of something like Pegboy with a ballad-y approach to noise punk abrasiveness" [-MRR]. Francis eventually left the band, and Double Skeleton became a three-piece. Right away they went to work writing their first record. The resulting seven songs were recorded with Monte Vallier at his studio in San Francisco in the fall and winter of 2016. Titled "No World", it was released as a mini-album on cassette in April 2017 by Conditions Records.
